Back when I was going to be second shooter for this, I had some discussions on style with the photographer I’d be working for.
She explained that she preferred to use natural light as much as possible, but when flash is called for, don’t be shy about it, especially when “debauchery is imminent.” It’s more of a party-snapshot look than I normally go for, but now that I think about it, it’s pretty effective at separating the subject from the background clutter if you do it right.
